PCSO Ryan Brunning has just completed a hike through the Himalayas to raise money for charity

A STOWMARKET PCSO has completed a hike through the Himalayas – raising more than £3,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

PCSO Ryan Brunning, 22, from Stowmarket, spent two weeks with a crew of 22 climbing to Mount Everest’s base camp.

The team have so far managed to raise more than £82,000 for the charity between them.

Ryan said he suffered altitude sickness on the journey

He said: “Because I was ill when I got the base camp my reaction was ‘I have done it, now lets go home’. It was only when one of the guys came over and hugged me that I realised our accomplishment.

“It was an overwhelming experience.”
